Hi all,
I am pleased to announce that the St. Lawrence Lightning Basketball Club will be running our Spring Development Program again in 2026.
We will run 16+ 2 hr practices in May – June and participate in 3 travel events again this year including the Summer Slam in Montreal June 26-28.

The selection process will occur via 2 open Talent ID sessions at Regiopolis-Notre Dame CHS (Kingston):
Friday Feb 13 6pm – 8pm
Friday Mar 6 6pm – 8pm
We will be looking at competitive female basketball players born in 2009-2014 and hoping to form 3 teams across the U13-U17 level.
During each session, players will participate in a series of drills and game play while coaches observe and evaluate. We do our best to make these sessions high energy and fun. So even if a player doesn’t make a team, we feel that these sessions will be worth it for all who attend.
Our goal is to identify up to 30 athletes who we feel are the most ready and in the best position to maximize their development at this time. We may take more or fewer depending on the level of interest and the overall level of play.
Cost to attend 1 or both sessions is $40.

We are having an information session Sept 12 at NCC (7 – 8 pm) to introduce our potential new officials to our association, the process of getting certified and how to become an official
Girls Skills Training
SPIRIT GIRLS BASKETBALL SKILLS TRAINING
U13–U16
August 12–16; 3-6pm
Loyalist College
Cost: $55 total
Limit: 15 players
Coach: Gord de Vries
These sessions will focus on understanding and using space to improve offense and defense, both individual and team.
Space to shoot, to attack, to get open, to pass, to rebound. And to limit space defensively, both 1 on 1 and team.
Players will leave this week better able to impact outcomes, at both ends of the court.

U14 Spring Team Tryouts
U14 Spring Team tryouts start after Ontario Cup! 🏀

➡️ Practices will be Mondays and Thursdays starting the following week at BSS

Queen’s Women’s Basketball Summer Training Camp
Are you or somebody you know interested in getting some high-level training in before the summer ends?
Then this training camp is just for you!
Queen’s University Women’s Basketball is running a performance program for ages 14-17 at the end of the summer.
Athletes will experience on-court instruction from Queen’s Women’s Basketball coaches and players, while living in residence on the Queen’s campus. The camp will also include off-court strength and conditioning training and video analysis sessions. The camp will focus on skill development, while creating opportunities for games and competition. This is an opportunity for players to get the full U-SPORTS student-athlete experience and begin making meaningful connections with coaches, players, and our campus.
Age: 14-17 years old
Fee: $600 (Residential) $375 (Non-Residential)
Schedule: Camp will run from Thurs Aug 22 at 10:00 am to Sun Aug 25 at 9:00 am
